As a Research Projects Administrator, Leona Perry is responsible for the financial management and oversight of ABVC's research projects. Leona acts as a liaison between Researchers, the Research and Graduate Studies office and the Financial Services offices of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. She assists the project managers with their financial reporting requirements, budgets and preparation of financial claims to government funding partners.

Leona has come to ABVC with over 20 years of extensive accounting knowledge in the manufacturing and fishing industries. She has gained international industry experience while working for Ocean Prawns Canada Ltd, a Danish owned seafood company that holds a joint venture partnership with Clearwater Fine Foods Inc.  She has also gained valuable audit and tax experience while working on client files in the farming and forestry sectors at Grant Thornton's IBG Group. Leona also has links to PEI where she worked for the accounting office at the University of PEI. It was at UPEI that she discovered an interest in becoming more involved in Research accounting.

Leona's special interests include working together with industry as an efficient team to develop and promote Atlantic Canada's new and innovative products and services.
